Inside the shake-up of Invesco’s investment trust business

Ellis acknowledged the liquidity issue but said that many of the big wealth management firms allow individual money managers to allocate to investment trusts, as they are managing smaller amounts of money, rather than the large pot of wealth of the national firm.

He added that investment trusts are benefitting from the “rise of the private investor”, as more individuals manage their own money via direct to consumer platforms.

He said investment trusts tend to be popular with those clients.
