Q&A: John Moret

There is too much jargon. We keep missing opportunities to make life easier.

I’m not saying there wasn’t regulation when I started but in 1970 it was a few chapters. It was early days for the whole advisory sector, hugely different from today’s landscape.

I admire what Steve Webb has done. If you look back in 20 years, you will look at these five years as one of enormous – and in the main, positive – change.

There are a small number of greedy individuals. Some of whom are advisers and it really does worry me.

Post-April, it could be a disaster not just for the unregulated fraternity but for the regulated as well. In the public eye, the difference between regulated and unregulated advice is far from clear.
